Day 4
Today is Day 4 and I feel amazing! Today's inspiration is Kale (see above photo). This awesome green tastes great in juice and is packed with vitamins and minerals. It is an excellent source of Vitamins A and C and a good source of Potassium and Calcium. My favorite thing about Kale is that its flavor is so easily masked by apples, so you get a rad green juice that tastes like the most refreshing apple juice ever.
I think I am probably down about 6 pounds. I don't own a scale due to a teenage struggle with disordered eating, but my clothes fit great and my boyfriend can't stop complimenting me.
The most notable aspect of this diet is how much energy I have. Throughout all the research I conducted on the diet, and I kept coming across people saying how energetic they felt and I thought "yeah right, I am going to be exhausted living on strictly juice". WRONG. I woke up this morning at 5am ready to tackle the day. 5 AM! I am usually more likely to still be awake at 5am than waking up to get started. It is truly incredible how amazing I feel. Last night I started exercising again and faced no issues in terms of fatigue.
I can easily say that this has been the best decision I have ever made. I know making it to 10 days will be a breeze. I may continue longer or I may pepper in some solid food, we will see when I get there!

Day 2
The end of Day 1 proved to be tougher than I imagined. I had the oddest craving for a hot dog, of which I rarely eat. I went out with my boyfriend and his friend which was also difficult because I really wanted to have a beer, but I know how bad alcohol is for me and this fast is for detox as much as it is for weight loss, so I proudly abstained.
I woke up feeling amazing! I love to sleep, looove it. I always sleep in on the weekend, I mean really sleep in, until like 11 or sometimes noon. But this morning I woke up at 9am, bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to take on the day. For breakfast I had a wonderful green juice, recipe as follows:

1 bunch Kale
1/2 pineapple
4 apples
It was a refreshing way to start the day! I didn't include any other recipes from yesterday because the other juices were just awful. Same goes for today. I am currently drinking a less than stellar spinach, carrot, mango and strawberry drink. The fruit makes a decent mask but I can still taste the carrot (I despise carrots).
Everyone says the first three days are the toughest. So far I feel like I am doing ok, I don't have any hunger pains, headaches, or any bizarre detox symptoms so hopefully this will end up being a breeze!

Day 1
I have been inspired to do this juice fast because I really enjoyed the holidays, really enjoyed the holidays, like 15 extra pounds enjoyed the holidays. So I'm tired of being fat, tired, sore and gross.
As a Nutrition student I know that fad dieting is not the way to go, but based on my research juice fasting seems pretty safe. You can't go wrong with whole natural foods whether you eat them intact or juice them.
For me, juicing seems the most convenient because I can pour it into my Tervis Tumbler and go about my day. Which is precisely what I have done today. I woke up with hardly a minute to spare before rushing to class, just like every day, but today I took an extra five minutes (I ended up being 5 minutes late for class) to make some juice to kick start my day. This morning's juice was as follows:
1 Large Bosque Pear
2 Small Peaches
4 Small Apples
How delicious! I split the juice with my boyfriend and rushed out the door. If all my juices taste this good, this cleanse should be a breeze.
